Deloitte US verschijnt alsnog voor rechtbank Amsterdam

Deloitte US, het Amerikaanse collega bedrijf van Deloitte Accountants BV, verschijnt alsnog voor de rechtbank Amsterdam in de door SOBI aangespannen civiele procedure. Deloitte US had op 28 mei moeten verschijnen maar was niet op komen dagen.

De rechtbank Amsterdam besliste toen dat de procedure zonder Deloitte US verder gevoerd zou worden. Deloitte US zou aan de uitspraak gebonden zijn. SOBI voert de procedure tegen Deloitte en voormalige financieel directeur Michiel Meurs voor aandeelhouders die gedupeerd zijn door de slechte controle bij US Foodservice.
SOBI voorzitter Pieter Lakeman: ’Het is opmerkelijk dat Deloitte US nu wel verschijnt. Meestal negeren Amerikaanse bedrijven de Nederlandse rechtsorde omdat ze denken dat het Amerikaanse recht over de hele wereld geldig is.’
